The Eco-epidemiology lab at Columbia University is leading the efforts in the Northeast region. The principal investigator is Prof. María Diuk-Wasser who has a comprehensive tick research program being conducted on Staten Island, NY and Block Island, RI. The members of the lab involved in the project are Pilar Fernández, PhD (postdoctoral researcher) and Pallavi Kache, MPH (PhD student).
The lab is part of the Northeast Center of Excellence for Vector-borne Diseases, which includes: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, New Hampshire, and DC.
